It is fascinating that there are two phenomenons going on right now with mothers and daughters. The classic teaching is that the mother is teaching the daughter the principals of exceptional skin care. The second, and growing phenomenon, is the daughter is teaching the mother about skin care. Just last week, a mom was here at Charmed with her daughter. The mom started out as a huge skeptic on injectables like Botox and dermal filler but then finally had them done and FELL IN LOVE. Then she came back to Charmed Medispa with her daughter coaching her on what this is all about and what to expect. The mom turned from skeptic to ambassador of all these “great treatments you can do”. She was literally telling her daughter that these treatments are no big deal and she will love them and go for it. She is a true convert of “I’m really scared” to “I love all of it”. To watch her encouraging her daughter after all the time spent encouraging her, was a moment. It felt really great. It felt meaningful.
Yesterday, a daughter was here with her mom and the daughter is ALL ABOUT THIS and the mom is on the fence. Mom never grew up with her mom encouraging her to maintain her facial volume, smooth her skin or even wear sunblock. Daughter was playing the part of cheerleader and encouraging her mom to understand that THIS is natural, highly satisfying and you will totally look like yourself (just a better self). Totally different roles in this scenario. Again, it feels really great to see this mother and daughter exchange of encouragement. Yes!
