Almost everyone knows about lip injections and lip filler is one of the most common treatments that we perform in our Delaware med spa. Lip injections have improved so much in the last few years as we have more progressive lip fillers that swell “90% less” than older types of fillers like Restylane and Juvederm. At Charmed Medispa, we prefer to use Revanesse Versa lips or Revance’s RHA line of fillers. Both of these lines are shatter proof in results with patients reporting that treatment with these fillers are “the best ever”. Lip filler can be subtle or more noticeable based on what desired result you want. Our provider will customize your lips completely. The results of lip filler are instant and you can have some mild swelling the next day but overall, there should not be any downtime. Typically, results of lip injections last 6-9 months and will start to last longer the more often you have lip filler.
In contrast, the lip flip uses Botox just above the lip border to weaken the muscle. When you weaken the muscle, you can have more upper lip showing especially when you smile if your lip tends you roll under. The results of the lip flip take 2-3 days to kick in and up to 14 days for full results. When you weaken the lip muscle, you can have difficulty pursing your lips or whistling. Most patients do not mind this and love their results. Lip flip results are much more subtle than lip injections but keep in mind, lip injections with filler can still be subtle if you want them to be. The lip flip tends to last only 8-10 weeks so patients needs to come more often. Interestingly, the lip flip will also help with upper lip lines so there is a bonus to that treatment.
