What can you expect at your first lip injection treatment appointment?
First, our aesthetic injection expert, Loraine Savarese, RN, will evaluate your concerns and exam your lips. The consultation is key to understanding exactly what type of result you are looking for. Are you more concerned about the upper lip or the sides of the lips? These topics will be reviewed and our provider will be able to give you clear education on what to expect with your lip filler treatment.
After you are comfortable with the education portion of your consult, you will be numbed with a topical numbing cream that is very effective at prepping the area and making your lip filler treatment comfortable. We use medical grade numbing agents that make all the difference in your comfort level. In addition, lip filler has lidocaine so your lips will continue to get more numb and enhance your comfort.
After you are numbed, the skin is prepped and the customized lip filler injection techniques are used to get your the desired results. Loraine uses techniques including the Russian lip technique, cupid’s bow injections, crisping of lip borders and injections to create the most natural looking lip shape. After the injections are complete, a topical healing agent is applied to reduce swelling and bruising.
You can expect some swelling the next day and you can use ice on and off after treatment. You can return to normal activities the next day after lip injections.
