Number one: We say “no” a good amount.
Number two: That alone is awesome and fundamental to an exceptional practice. Charmed Medispa is a practice built on morals and integrity and we are obsessed with your best outcome.
Number three: Here are some scenarios on saying “no” so you, the vulnerable, get to understand how important it is.
Scenario one: Laser hair removal. Client has had 4 sessions with great results but returns for her 5th session and reports a change in her health and she is taking Bactrim for a UTI. Guess what? NO treatment today. Bactrim is a photosensitive medication and all laser therapies (light sources) should be avoided while on this medication. Ding. Ding. Correct no.
Scenario two: We get the request to do a filler or botox party. Big no. First, this is serious business and medical treatments should not be done in a party atmosphere. You can miss medical updates and histories and the purity and safety of each treatment is compromised especially if it is done at an outside office. We actually cringe at the thought that Botox and filler parties are an option. It’s kind of gross. What’s next your pap smear or blood drawn at Marshall’s? How convenient but enormously inappropriate. Shae and I are laughing so hard right now thinking about examples of these scenarios. Ding. Ding. Ding. Super correct no.
Scenario three: Peels. We get the request, “I’d like a peel today.” When you dig deeper you realize that they want to “fast” result but are unwilling to even use sunblock. No. Sorry, we want you to have fast, safe and superior results and you can actually damage the skin if you peel it without the proper (emphasis on “proper”) sunblock. Ding. Ding. Ring the “no is correct” bell. You’re welcome.
