Have you ever noticed that your mouth turns down? Instead of your lips being in a neutral position or even lifted up, some patients have significant downward turn of their mouth. The first solution is adding some dermal filler like Restylane or Juvederm to the corners of the mouth to lift the skin and soft tissue. Some patients chronically smile down or unconsciously move their mouth down all day long. Putting Botox into the muscle area that is pulling down relaxes the strong muscle and the corners of the mouth can go up. Botox is safe and effective for relaxing muscles that can be hyperactive.
